Frequently Asked Questions
Waxing Services
Q: How long should my hair be before waxing?
A: Hair should be about the length of a grain of rice — roughly ¼ inch long — to achieve the best results. This usually means about 3-4 weeks of growth after shaving/nairing.
Q: Does waxing hurt?
A: Some discomfort is normal, especially for first-timers, but I use gentle techniques and high-quality wax to minimize sensitivity. Most clients find the discomfort decreases with consistent waxing. To minimize the discomfort further, feel free to avoid caffeine and take pain meds of your choice up to 30-45 minutes before your appointment.
Q: How should I prepare for my waxing appointment?
A: Lightly exfoliate 48 hours before your appointment and arrive with freshly showered, dry skin. Avoid lotions, spray tans, or heavy products on the area to be waxed for maximum results. Hydrate by drinking plenty of water and using a dime size of a non pore clogging oil i.e., (almond, jojoba, or grape seed).
Q: Can I get waxed during my menstrual cycle?
A: Yes, but you may be more sensitive to heat and discomfort during this time. I recommend wearing a tampon or menstrual cup if you’re getting a bikini or Brazilian wax.
Q: How long will my waxing results last?
A: Most clients enjoy smooth skin for 3–4 weeks. With regular waxing and home care, you may notice finer, sparser regrowth over time.
Q: Are there any aftercare instructions?
A: Absolutely! Avoid hot baths, sweating, sun exposure, and tight clothing for 24–48 hours post-wax. I’ll also provide you with detailed aftercare tips at your appointment.
Q: Can I wax while using accutane, antibiotics, or retinols ?
A: No, waxing services may be resumed 6 months after finishing accutane, 2 weeks after finishing antibiotics, and 1 weeks after retinol use to avoid skin lifting.
Facial Services
Q: How do I know which facial is right for me?
A: During your consultation, we’ll discuss your skin concerns, goals, and current routine. I’ll recommend the facial that best suits your needs — whether you’re targeting acne, hyperpigmentation, aging, or simply want a healthy glow.
Q: What should I avoid before getting a facial?
A: Please avoid using active ingredients like retinol, exfoliating acids, enzymes, or heavy sun exposure 3–5 days prior to your facial. This helps protect your skin and ensures the best results.
Q: Can I wear makeup after my facial?
A: It’s best to allow your skin to breathe for at least 24 hours after a facial to maximize your results. Lightweight, non-comedogenic products are recommended if needed.
Q: How often should I get a facial?
A: For best results, facials are typically recommended every 4–6 weeks, depending on your skin goals and treatment plan. At the very least, it is recommended to receive a facial per quarter as the seasons change.
Q: Will I experience breakouts after a facial?
A: Some clients may experience minor purging after deep cleansing treatments — this is normal and temporary. We’ll discuss aftercare tips to support your skin’s healing process.
Q: What skincare products do you use?
A: I use high-quality, professional-grade products designed to be both effective and gentle, with a focus on corrective results and long-term skin health.
